Objective
The main objective of the course is to provide you with a profound understanding of how raw materials eventually transform into finished products. Throughout the course, you will explore manufacturing and separation processes, their functionality, and production technology. We will delve into key unit processes in clean production and discuss contemporary materials, such as bio-based materials, and their versatile structures.
During the course, we will examine the composition, structure, and manufacturing methods of materials, helping you understand how these factors impact the properties and usability of materials. Additionally, we will explore the possibilities of renewable raw materials and process by-products, with a specific focus on their utilization in the circular economy.
The course will provide you with in-depth knowledge and perspectives that illuminate the more complex aspects of production, inspiring you to think from a sustainable future perspective

1. Operating environment of process industry and various production processes.
2. Manufacturing and separation methods in production.
3. Most common types of materials and their properties, as well as selection criteria (metals, plastics, composites, bio-based renewable raw materials, and their structures and potential uses).
4. Utilization of by-products and sustainable production.

2. Can explain the operation of the most common industrial processes and the unit operations included, and use and make simple process diagrams

Laboratory assignments as a part of orientation studies.
