Objective
Anatomy of the upper limbs, 1.5 credits
The student can identify the key details of the bones in the upper limbs and describe the structure and functioning of joints in the upper limbs. They can identify and name the muscles in the upper limbs, know how to describe the movements they generate in each joint and can analyse the impact of muscle insertions on movement.
Physiology, 0.5 credits
The student identifies the organs in the key body organ systems and can explain the basic features of their functioning. The student is able to use professional terminology to describe the structures.
Nervous system, 3 credits:
The student can describe the structure of the nervous cell, how and why nerve impulses are generated and how impulses are passed to the next cell. They can explain the main characteristics of the development of the nervous system, the basic structure of the system and the key tasks of its components, using professional terminology. In particular, the student can describe the location of the key nerves in the limbs and explain the innervation of muscle groups and skin areas. They know the most common types of nerve damage and their symptoms.
