Objective

The student is able to communicate in Finnish and English in a multicultural, multilingual and multidisciplinary work community.
The student is able to write key expert texts in their own field.
The student is able to apply scientific writing practices in professional work duties.
The student is able to communicate fluently and effectively in Finnish and English in learning and working life assignments related to their field.
The student is able to use Finnish and English to develop their professional skills.
The student understands the importance of language awareness as a part of their professional skills.

Content

Expert communications in Finnish, 2 credits
- Expert texts and professional interaction orally and in writing
- Advanced scientific writing skills
- Language awareness in a work community
Professional English, 3 credits
- Command of the key English-language vocabulary related to the student’s profession and its use in oral and written interaction
- Reading scientific texts and utilising English-language sources in learning and work assignments
- Basics of writing in a factual style
- Language awareness and cultural awareness in international work communities
