Objective

The aim of the course is to strengthen students’ professional competence, research and development skills, critical reasoning and knowledge formation skills, with which they may influence the development of the field.

Objectives:

- Students can identify, assess and justify research and development needs from different perspectives.
- The student is able to critically evaluate and utilise national and international research knowledge and material in the development of working life and in research, development and innovation activities.
- The student knows the methods suitable for research and development projects in the field and is able to choose the appropriate qualitative, quantitative or development methods to the objectives of the research and development project.
- Students are able to apply the methods appropriately.
- Students are able to follow the principles of good scientific practice, master data protection and research ethics and are able to apply the principles of open science and research in their research and development activities.
- The student is able to appropriately assess the reliability of a research and development project
- The student is proficient in research and development communication.
- The student is able to take the initiative and act responsibly in multidisciplinary development networks and implement various working life development projects.

o Quantitative, qualitative and development methods
o Data collection, analysis, reliability and interpretation
- Research ethics, data protection and good scientific practice and the principles of open science and research

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students can identify and describe the needs and stages of research and development work in their field. They are able to use relevant knowledge in development activities. Students master the use of concepts and methods relevant to research and development in their field and are able to apply them. They are able to identify and take into account data protection and research ethics issues and to communicate and report on research and development work. The student is able to carry out research and development projects in cooperation with others that develop working life.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students can analyse and justify the needs and stages of research and development work in their field. They are able to use, compare and analyse relevant knowledge in development activities in an appropriate manner. Students have a good command of the use of concepts and methods relevant to research and development in their field and are able to apply them in a wide variety of ways. They comply with data protection and research ethics guidelines and are able to communicate and report clearly on their research and development work. The student is able to independently carry out research and development projects that develop working life and is able to cooperate with others.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students critically evaluate and justify the needs and stages of research and development work in their field. They analyse and critically evaluate knowledge relevant to development and apply it skillfully in development activities. Students have an excellent command of the use of concepts and methods relevant to research and development in their field and are able to apply them in versatile and innovative ways. They thoroughly understand data protection and research ethics guidelines and develop activities in line with them and communicate and report convincingly on research and development work. The student is able to lead research and development projects that develop working life and is able to constructively cooperate with others.
