Objective

The student understands the significance of point-of-care testing as part of the patient's treatment process, and the different stages of the point-of-care examination process. The student is able to describe the legislation governing point-of-care testing. To take high-quality point-of-care samples, describe the principles of different methods and use point-of-care equipment. Assess the reliability of results. Service point-of-care equipment. Name the key concepts of quality assurance and act accordingly. Analyse the different areas, current situation and future of health technology and their significance in health care laboratory work. Foresee advances in health technology in your personal area of expertise and know how to apply this knowledge nationally and internationally. Understand the importance of induction in point-of-care testing. Guide health care professionals in the choice, use and quality assurance of point-of-care equipment. Identify point-of-care analytics and the principles of sustainable development from a financial and ecological viewpoint.
