Objective
Opiskelija osaa soveltaa luonnontieteellisiä ja teknisiä ilmiöpohjaisia malleja energiatehokkaassa tuotannossa tarvittavien laitteiden ja putkistojen suunnitteluun ja mitoitukseen.
Opiskelija syventää tietämystään lämmönsiirtoon ja haihdutukseen liittyvistä käsitteistä ja laitteista. Hän oppii hyödyntämään osaamistaan modernien energiatehokkaiden laiteratkaisuiden suunnittelussa ja mitoituksessa eri tietoteknisten työkalujen avulla.
Content
Kurssilla käsitellään alla lueteltuja kestävän tuotannon energia- ja kustannustehokkuutta, toimintavarmuutta ja laatua tehostavia asioita:
1. Putkistot, säiliöt ja putkivarusteet
2. Pumput ja niiden prosessitekninen mitoittaminen
3. Kokoonpuristuvat virtaukset
4. Puristuksen ja tyhjiötekniikan peruskäsitteet ja laitteet
5. Haihdutus ja lauhdutus
6. Monivaihehaihduttimet
7. Lämpöintegrointi ja lämmönsiirtoverkostot
8. Lämmönsiirtimien prosessitekninen mitoitus

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to describe and explain the basic phenomena and related concepts of unit operations of mass transfer. The student is able to calculate and size mass transfer processes on the basis of the given equations. The student understands the basis for the liquid-vapor equilibrium of binary mixtures. The student is able to use a process simulator.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student is able to describe and explain the basic phenomena and related concepts of unit operations of mass transfer. The student is able to calculate, size and select mass transfer processes on the basis of the given assumptions. The student understands the basis for the vapour-liquid and liquid-liquid equilibrium of binary mixtures. The student is able to use a process simulator in calculating mass transfer processes.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to model, size and select mass transfer processes based on meaningful assumptions and to analyze, evaluate and modify solutions and models as needed. The student understands the liquid-vapor and liquid-liquid equilibrium of binary and multi-component mixtures and where they are based on. The student is able to use a process simulator smoothly in calculating mass transfer processes.
