Objective

The student gains solid knowledge of the basic concepts and terminology of modern production facility design, understanding their role in sustainable development. They master various design systems and acquire the relevant legislation associated with design work. The student can identify the necessary data to initiate responsible factory and piping design and is able to create clear layout plans. Throughout the design process, they meticulously and clearly document their work, consistently considering factory safety and environmental perspectives responsibly.

Content

he course covers the following concepts and phases of modern production facility design, as well as their application:

Processing of renewable raw materials
Production in accordance with the values of sustainable development
Implementation of energy-efficient production

Fundamentals of production facility design
3D design systems
Legislation related to design
Key standards in the field
Layout design of production facilities

Evaluation scale

0-5

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to define and describe the concepts and phenomena included in the course in a qualitative way and to compute straightforward problems.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to understand and define or describe the concepts and phenomena discussed in the course in his own words; he also knows how to explain the origin and meaning of related equations and to critically evaluate the solutions obtained when solving related problems.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to characterize and model phenomena discussed in the course on the basis of reasonable assumptions, as well as to analyze, evaluate and modify solutions for related problems and the underlying model when needed.
