Objective

Students
- are familiar with the special aspects of care and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities
- know how to support the functional capacity and participation of disabled persons
- can implement nursing of special needs groups and support the patient and his/her significant others
- are competent in the basics of palliative care, care guidelines and support methods
- know how to plan, implement and evaluate symptomatic nursing care of special needs groups
- can act based on the ethical guidelines of nursing and evaluate their implementation in the nursing care of special needs groups

Further information

Attendance at the orientation class is compulsory.

Clinical laboratory /Simulation teaching are of compulsory attendance and students are required to wear appropriate protective uniforms. Instructions given in asepsis lectures are to be obeyed during practises

The contents, assignments and evaluation in the course support the student achieveing competence required in core competencies (YleSH180op).

NOTE! Course related drug calculations and clinical labs/simulation has to be passed.

AHOT: Pedagogical solution, student will enroll on the course and participate in Orientation. Documents has to be presented to the course teacher after Orientation. Exam is compulsory.

Emergency Care and High Dependency Nursing Competence.
Completed Clinical Practices in Environments of Medical Nursing and Surgical nursing.
