Objective
After completion of the course the students understand the basics of Ohm’s law and all the parameters involved. The students are able to solve problems related to simple circuits by Kirchoff’s laws and more complicated circuits using the loop voltage or nodal analysis. The students know how to operate safely and responsibly in the electronics laboratory and know how to operate the DC equipment of the laboratory.
Content
• DC current, DC voltage and resistance
• Ohm’s law
• Voltage division and Kirchoff’s voltage law
• Current division and Kirchoff’s current law
• Loop voltage analysis
• Nodal analysis
• Voltage, current and resistance measurements using a multimeter
• DC voltage source use at the electronics lab
• The basic use of an oscilloscope and a function generator
• Safety in the laboratory
