Objective

The student is able to work in digital learning environments and use the most common computer software and tools.
The student is able to work according to the principles of information security and data protection.
The student is able to apply basic scientific writing and professional presentation skills in learning assignments.
The student knows how to obtain knowledge in their learning environment.
The student is able to plan their studies, time management and career path.
The student identifies the factors affecting their wellbeing and knows how to use Metropolia’s student wellbeing services.
The student understands sustainable development as part of health care and social services.

- Metropolia’s digital learning environments, use of cloud services, Metropolia’s templates and use of basic software
- Data protection and information security
- Basics of scientific writing and professional presentation skills
- Study skills and basics of information search
- Code of conduct and regulations governing studies
- Introduction to the student’s field of study
- Planning and support for the studies and career path
- Basics of sustainable development in health care and social services

The course includes group work, which requires active participation.

The orientation of the course presents the whole content of the course and the learning tasks.
