Objective
Upon completion of the course students will be able to:
* analyse the objectives of an organisation and enhance the understanding of procurement´s strategic importance in the organisation.
* plan and develop procurement strategy and management of the procurement department
* assess which management methods, e.g. category management, to employ in which situation
* utilize different analysis tools of procurement management e.g. spend-analysis and portfolio analysis in order to classify procurement
* is able to recognize the challenges, prerequisites, possibilities and methods of operating beyond own organizational boundaries and based on that plan, manage and design outsourcing processes.
* manage supplier markets in a customer-oriented manner taking full advantage of the supplier markets’ innovation potential
* utilize the results of cost-benefit calculations and life-cycle calculations in order to analyse the total costs (TCO) and life-cycle costs and thus the economic sustainability of procurement
* make risk analyses about social and ecological sustainability
