Learning outcomes

After completion the course the student can list and describe the steps of a research process and is able to design R&D project leading to a Master’s Thesis. He or she can utilize methodology applicable to engineering research projects and is able to use scientific texts and professional literature to support problem-solving. He or she can evaluate the suitability of various research methods and choose those suited to his or hers R&D project. The student will be able report his or her project in a professional manner.

Content

Scientific knowledge, research ethics, defining a research problem, research process, quantitative and qualitative research, measurements and inaccuracy, survey research, statistical analyses, reporting.
