Prerequisites
Two years studies in student´s own degree programme.
Teaching methods
Hybrid teaching, which includes four webinar days: 12.-13.2., 19.3. and 26.4. The webinar days include lectures, familiarization with fieldwork methods and the Maptionnaire tool, and student presentations of international group work with feedback. The supervision of the international group work takes place remotely.
Face-to-face teaching includes guided information search using different fieldwork methods and the Maptionnaire tool, as well as guided national group work.

Exam dates and retake possibilities
There is no examination in the course.
International connections
The course will be implemented in co-operation with Namibia University of Science and Technology and the City of Windhoek.
Student workload
Contact teaching is divided as follows: Distance teaching and guidance 35 h, face-to-face teaching and guidance 15 h.
The learning tasks are divided as follows: International group work 30 h, national group work 30 h, learning diary 25 h.
Content scheduling
The course is divided according to the webinars. First part of the course until March, 19th emphasizes on international teaching and quantitative (quantitative) information acquisition using Maptionnaire and GIS data. The rest of the course focuses on teaching in the national context and qualitative (qualitative) information acquisition, utilizing various fieldwork methods, which culminates in a plan for the planning area as a group project. In the last webinar, both Finnish and Namibian groups will present their work to each other and to the representatives of the cities of Helsinki and Windhoek, who will also give feedback on them.
