Objective
The students have an overview of work safety as a whole, and its regulatory base in live performance productions from the point of view of organisation and leadership. They are familiar with the responsibilities and processes in work safety and workers' protection. The students understand the significance of well-being at work, both in their own activities as well as in the activities of the organization The students are acquainted with risk assessment and control processes and practices. The students actively advance the safety culture in their own work and / or in the workc community, as well as risk assesment and risk control. The students are acquainted with the fundamentals of safety and crisis communication.

Teaching methods
Opintojakso koostuu lähi- ja etäopetusluennoista, opetusta tukevasta itsenäisestä opiskelusta ja pienryhmätehtävistä. Opintojakson aikana opiskelija tuottaa esitysteknisestä toimintaympäristössä pien- tai osaprojektin työturvallisuuden kehittämisen näkökulmasta. Opintojakson aikana opiskelija laatii ohjeistetusti projektipäiväkirjan. Opintojakso päättyy projektin esittelytehtävään.
On mahdollista, että osa opetuksena toteutettavasta opintojaksosta tallennetaan joustavaa opiskelua varten. Mikäli et halua olla mukana tallenteella, ilmoita tästä opettajalle opintojakson ensimmäisellä opetuskerralla. Opetustilanteiden tallenteet ovat nähtävissä opintojakson ajan opintojakson käyttämällä oppimisalustalla. Jos ryhmän kanssa ei sovita muuta, opetustilanteiden tallenteet poistetaan viimeistään 6 kk opintojakson päätyttyä.

Opintojaksolla on mahdollista toteuttaa kehittämisprojekti tai osa siitä työelämälähtöisesti tai Metropolian opetus tai hanketyössä.
Student workload
Kurssin opintopistemäärä on viisi opintopistettä. Laskennallisesti yhden opintopisteen suorittaminen edellyttää 27 tuntia työtä. Opintojakson kokonaistuntimäärä on tämän laskelman mukaan 135 tuntia. Opintojaksolla on luentoja 28 tuntia eli työmäärästä 107 tuntia sijoittuu luentojen ulkopuolelle. Tämä tuntimäärä jakautuu luentoihin valmistautumiseen (etukäteen luettaviin materiaaleihin tai tehtäviin), projektityön suunnitteluun, toteuttamiseen sekä dokumentoimiseen ja presentaatioon. Pystyt näiden tuntimäärien mukaan arvioimaan, millaista panostusta sinulta kurssityöskentelyyn odotetaan ja miten kurssin kuormittavuus suhteutuu muihin kursseihin.
Työmäärämitoitus on ohjeellinen ja suuntaa antava opintojakson osaamistavoitteiden saavuttamiseksi ja arvosanaan 3/5 tarvittava keskimääräinen työmäärä. Opiskelijan aiemmasta osaamis- ja kokemustaustasta riippuen työmäärä voi olla vähemmän tai enemmän. Opintojaksossa hankittua osaamista arvioidaan tehtävien ja muiden suoritteiden kautta, ei tehtyjen tuntien määrällä.

Opintojaksolla on 50 % läsnäolovelvollisuus.
Arvioinnin perusteet ja painotukset:
Harjoitus- ja projektityöt (40 % arvosanasta)
Jatkuva arviointi (20 % arvosanasta)
Dokumentointi ja oppimispäiväkirja (20 % arvosanasta)
Vertaisarviointi (20 % arvosanasta)
Aktiivisella osallistumisella luentoihin ja luentotehtäviin on mahdollista ansaita lisäpisteitä, joilla voi korottaa opintojakson arvosanaa.

The students have a wide understanding of both work safety and worker protection as a whole and the related regulations. They understand the risk assesment ant risk control process and can use the related concepts in a professional manner. The students can observe, report and advance safe activities in their own work and/or in the work community in a progressive way. The students are well familiar with the principles of safety and crisis communication. They advance safe activity and are able to improve safe conditions live performance productions.

Prerequisites
Safety in live performance engineering course or similar comptencies. In addition, the participants need to be familiar with the use of live performance engineering technology in diverse use environments, and have basic knowledge and skills related to the use and work practices of live performance engineering systems.
