Objective

The student knows the concept of contemporary art and the theory and decision-making process in conservation of contemporary art. The student understands the challenges concerning materials, storage and exhibition of contemporary art and the significance of documentation. The student is able to apply methods of preventive conservation and means of practical conservation for works of contemporary art.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with the national and international contemporary art collections and works of art. The student is familiar with the decision-making principles and processes concerning contemporary art and is able to evaluate the need of preventive conservation methods. The student is able to carry out documentation of contemporary art.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is familiar with the national and international contemporary art collections and works of art. The student is familiar with the specific problems of contemporary art conservation and understands the challenges concerning decision-making processes and is able to evaluate critically the need of preventive and hands-on conservation methods. The student collects information actively and is able to use gathered data critically. The student understands the meaning of proper documentation for collection management and preservation of contemporary art.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is familiar with the national and international contemporary art collections and works of art. The student knows the specific problems of contemporary art conservation and is able to make propositions creatively in accordance with the decision-making process. The student collects information actively and is able to use gathered data critically in order to assess possible preventive conservation methods and possibilities. The student understands the meaning of proper documentation for collection management and preservation of contemporary art.
