Objective

On completion of the course the student
- can select and apply practical research-oriented methods needed for the development of various working life practices
- knows how to visualise the research process and knows the thesis requirements in the UAS context
- is able to build and apply a theoretical framework in research-oriented development work
- recognizes the research methods of their own field and is able to choose the relevant research methods to their own work
- is able to collect and analyse research data needed in development work
- knows how to write research text and reflect on the writing

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

With assistance the student can describe the practical methods and basics of research in the research-oriented development work of the culture industry. The student can search for information and take a critical approach to different sources. The student can describe one research methods needed in the development of working life, and knows the UAS thesis requirements. The student can describe the main features of the research-oriented development process. With guidance the student can gather research materials and report on their research work.

The student can describe the practical methods and basics of research in research-oriented development work. The student can search for information and take a critical approach to different sources. The student can describe several research methods needed in the development of working life, and knows the UAS thesis requirements. The student can describe the research-oriented development process. The student can utilize the theoretical knowledge base and recognize the research methods of their own field. With assistance, the student can apply these methods in industry-driven research-oriented development work. They can choose an approach suitable to their own development work, and gather and analyze necessary materials. The student can report on their research clearly.

The student can describe with distinction the practical methods and basics of research in the research-oriented development work of the culture industry. The student can search for information and take a critical approach to different sources. The student can describe many different research methods needed in the development of working life, and knows the UAS thesis requirements. The student can fluently utilize the theoretical knowledge base to support their own research, recognize several research methods of their own field, and apply these methods in their industry-driven research-oriented development work. They can choose an approach suitable to their own development work, and gather and analyze the necessary materials creatively. The student can report on their research clearly and consistently.
