Objective
The student understands how high quality fresh water is delivered to customers. The student knows how drainage works. The student understands the functioning of the waste water treatment system. The student understands the needs and basics of water management development.
Content
-Water supply from groundwater and surface water
-Quality of tap water
-Finnish legislation and EU directives relating to tap water
-Basics of wastewater drainage design
-Specific features of different waters

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to define or describe the subject matter related to the concepts and phenomena qualitatively and calculate the associated basic quantitative comparisons and calculations.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student is able to apply, calculate, change and choose the concepts related to the matter and phenomena qualitatively and calculate the basic quantitative calculations as well as to complete and produce the necessary information for the calculations.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The students is able to categorise, collect, combine and generalise the concepts related to the matter and phenomena qualitatively and calculate the basic quantitative calculations as well as derive and rearrange given basic information.

Prerequisites
The student understands the basics of environmental chemistry related to water treatment. The student recognises selected environmental engineering processes and equipment as part of the process.
