Objective

The students will be familiar with the theoretical foundations and the basic concepts of social pedagogy as well as different trends in the field. They will be familiar with the typical characteristics of socio-pedagogical work approach. The students are familiar with the value system, ethical concepts and the principles of professional ethics. The students will understand the importance of critical thinking.

Social pedagogy as a field of science and practice. The roots and the development of social pedagogy. Key concepts and operating principles of social pedagogy. Introduction to ethical thinking and professional ethics in the field of social services.

Welcome to the interesting world of Social Pedagogy! In this 5 credit course, you will explore the fundamental principles that shape our interactions within society. The course is implemented entirely as independent online studies. The course has untimed tasks, readings, podcasts, videos and knowledge quizzes. The final task is a short academically written article analysis. The idea is to practice writing academically in English, grammar will not be graded.
