Objective
On completion of the course, the student will have an overall understanding of the work of an HVAC contractor and will be able to perform the most common tasks.
The student is familiar with the general terms of agreement related to HVAC engineering; the collective labour agreements and can apply these to subcontractor agreements.
The student is familiar with the relevant legislation concerning occupational safety and insuring, and understands how it affects work on a site.
The student can apply the relevant rules and regulations when working on a site.
The student knows the principles of offer calculation and can independently prepare the calculations and documents needed in bidding and contracting.
The student can apply the principles of site task management.
The student can prepare a schedule and allocate resources for typical simple tasks on a site.
The student can use tools for project management and monitoring progress.
