Objective
The student knows how to use the basic formulas of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics. The student is able to carry out measurements with general measuring and data collection devices. The student knows how to calculate quantities and evaluate the reliability of measurements using a suitable method. The student can report the measurement results and the conclusions drawn from the measurements.
Content
Basics of thermodynamics. Thermal energy and heat flow. Energy balance. Pressure loss of straight pipe and duct. Static pressure, dynamic pressure and total pressure in the air duct. Hydrostatic pressure in the pipeline. Characteristic curve of pump and fan. Pump and fan operating point. Processing of measurement results. Assessment of reliability. Measurement report.
