Objective

Students
- are able to apply their key theoretical and clinical competence of public health nursing required by the clinical practice environment
- are able to adopt a client-centered approach to maintaining and promoting public health nursing of clients and families
- can follow the ethical guidelines and principles of nursing and the ethical recommendations on public health nursing
- can work as responsible members of work groups and work communities
- can plan, implement and evaluate group work aiming to support parenthood and couple relationship and group maternity training for expecting couples
- can develop peer group activities enabling and supporting empowerment of parents
- can assume the expert role in group counselling
- are able to evaluate their competence and develop it further

Teaching methods

Activating lecture and planning and implementation of family coaching or family club for families in the HyMy-village service of the Myllypuro campus. Evaluation seminar after family workshops and family club "Metku"

Further information

The guidance situation is designed according to the framework presented in the orientation lecture, in small groups, and is fed back in a teacher-led way. Implementation of the coaching/family café for families according to a schedule guided by the teacher.

Course feedback:

Lesson feedback will be collected on implementation as an important part of the development of teaching and activities. This feedback is an important part of the development of the course and a key element in the evaluation of the activities and activities. Feedback enables teachers to improve their own implementation and teaching methods for other courses. Giving constructive feedback will also develop your own work-life skills. Course feedback is given anonymously and the person giving the feedback cannot be identified.
