Objective

The student is able to:
- apply the relevant knowledge and skills required by the clinical practice environment
- perform nursing care in a patient-centered fashion when promoting the health of the patients and his next of kin
- apply the ethical principles and guidances of nursing
- work as a part of professional group and community while applying patient safety principles
- work as a part of a multiprofessional group and takes part in the decision making process relevant to the patient treatment
- guide and support the patient and his next of kin
- evaluate and develop his professional knowledge and skills

Content

- 6 credits clinical practice in acute or prehospital emergency care
- 2 credits of simulation studies and the RN 180 credits stage competence assessment

- combining the RN and emergency nurse competences and using it in prehospital patient needs assessment
- the special circumstances related to the RN and emergency nurse responsibilities and duties
- the ethical special circumstances and interactions related to acute and prehospital emergency care
- the professional evaluation of personal and teamwork

Teaching methods

Simulations (2 ECTS) are being organized at the school before clinical practise. Clinical practice place is in the acute care environment chosen by the student.

Clinical practice can be done abroad as in exchange.

Completion alternatives

No optional methods. AHOT applications as advised in Metropolia study regulations before the practise.

Student workload

Clinical practice is 6 ECTS. During the training, the working methods, shifts and general principles of the work community are being obeyed.

Content scheduling

Clinical practice Autumn 2023 or as individually planned. The practice must be completed before the graduation date.

Syventävää -harjoittelua ennen:
Perusopinnot suoritettu harjoitteluineen, hoitotason ja päivystyshoitotyön teoriat suoritettu.
Opiskelijan tulee tutustua oppilaitoksen harjoitteluohjeisiin ja tulostaa itselleen harjoittelulomakkeet ennen harjoittelua.
Opiskelija vastaa siitä, että hän on tietoinen harjoittelun vaatimuksista ja ohjeista.
Opiskelijan tulee esitellä päivitetty jobiili-CV:nsä sekä tavoitteensa työelämäohjaajalleen ensimmäisten harjoittelupäivien aikana.
Harjoittelunajankohdat eli päivät ja päivien kesto sovitaan harjoittelun työelämäohjaajan kanssa kirjallisesti käyttäen oppilaitoksen kaavaketta. Opiskelijan tulee noudattaa sovittuja ajankohtia. Harjoittelun tuntimäärä on 162.
Viimeistään harjoittelun ensimmäisen viikon päätyttyä opiskelija palauttaa työelämäohjaajan hyväksymät tavoitteensa sekä työvuoronsa ohjaavalle opettajalle.
Opiskelija saa tavoitteista palautteen ja on velvollinen sitoutumaan harjoittelunsa tavoitteisiin.
Loppu-/väliarviointi tehdään opiskelijan, työelämäohjaajan ja ohjaavan opettajan kontaktilla, etäyhteydellä tai tarvittaessa opettajan henkilökohtaisella käynnillä.
Harjoittelun päätyttyä opiskelija palauttaa harjoittelun lomakkeet viikon kuluessa asianmukaisesti täytettynä ohjaavalle opettajalle

Prerequisites

A minimum of 90 credits of clinical nursing studies.
Acute and prehospital emergency care competence.
Relevant previous studies related to the clinical practice environment.
The student and tutor teacher go through other recommended studies in the HOPS discussions.
