Objective

The student understands the changing character of cultural heritage. The student knows and is able to analyze both the material and immaterial concepts of cultural heritage, the stages of cultural processes and the key factors interacting within cultural heritage. The student understands the role of a conservator in the field of cultural heritage as an important actor and interpreter of culture and cultural heritage. The student understands the global nature and significance of the cultural heritage research and is able to follow and analyze the international discussion concerning the research of cultural heritage.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student recognizes the basic phenomena, concepts, practices and institutions of cultural heritage research. The student is able to apply on a basic level her/his knowledge in her/his research in conservation. The student is familiar with the sources and reference material concerning cultural heritage and is able to use this data in her/his work.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student recognizes the basic phenomena, concepts, practices and institutions of cultural heritage research. The student is able to apply the concepts and methods of cultural heritage research in her/his research in conservation. The student understands the global character of cultural heritage and is able to follow and evaluate the international debate concerning cultural heritage. The student is familiar with the sources and reference material concerning cultural heritage and is able to use this data in her/his work.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student knows the basic phenomena, concepts, practices and institutions of cultural heritage research. The student knows well the basic concepts and methods of cultural heritage research and is able to apply inventively these concepts and methods in her/his research in conservation. The student knows well the national and international debate and resources concerning cultural heritage. The student is able in-depth to analyze, process and use obtained data concerning cultural heritage in her/his work.
