Objective
The student explores element improvisation, element improvisation menus and working methods. During the course, the student practices, observes, researchs and develops his/her own relationship with musical and expressive elements as well as functional roles by improvising. The student is able to use different elements and phenomena of music in improvisation.
The student is able to hear and analyze music and apply acquired knowledge to their own music. The student is able to fulfill assignments and work according to schedule.
Content
The principles of element improvisation method. Practising improvisation with element improvisation menus. Training of musical and expressive abilities. Completing set assignments both independently and in teams. Techniques and exercises in element improvisation

The student can complete and submit given exercises and assignments according to schedule.
The student is able to identify their strengths and areas of development and work towards their learning goals with determination. The student can work as an active member of the group and give constructive feedback on the contributions of the other.

Further information
The students are supposed to study the contents and complete the assignments independently. Some of them will be group or pair assignments. There will also be three plenary meetings for all participants together: one in the beginning, one mid-term, and one at the end where the results are to be shared
