Development of Expertise in Nursing - Clinical Practice (10 ECTS)

Objective

Students
- can apply the theoretical and clinical competence required by the clinical practice environment to the nursing care of clients/patients
- can maintain and promote the health of clients/patients and their significant others in a client-oriented way in nursing care
- follow the ethical guidelines and principles of nursing
- work responsibly as members of work groups and work community.
- can assess their professional competence and develop it further.

Clinical practice is supervised in chosen clinical environment.
RPL, working as a substitute nurse is possible to cover this study unit.
Possible clinical environments: home hospitals, palliative care untis and polyclinics, hospice care units, rehabilitation units and hospitals,homes and schools for disabled/children with special needs.
Special units: hemodialyce units, units for the patiens in respirators. Third sector.

Student workload

Clinical practice 5 weeks, 200 hours (7,5 ECTS) Clinical practice is possible to do as a RPL. Please see the guidelines. Workshop (2,5 ECTS) in university before the clinical practice.
