Objective

The Students
• are able to use multidisciplinary gerontological data
• identify ageing as a separate phase of life
• can explain the starting points of agency
• are able to describe the resources of the older people
• can describe inclusion and its importance to an old person
• are able to act in accordance with the ethical principles of elderly care
• are able to explain the importance of meeting skills as a key starting point for customer work
• identify, for example, the effects of memory disorder on interaction
• can explain the competence produced by the degree programme

Content

• key aspects of gerontology and developmental psychology
• holistic image and perception of the older people
• key theories of ageing, such as agency
• the resources and inclusion of older people;
• ethical action of the Bachelor of Social Services and Health Care, responsibility and a growing professional proficiency in elderly care
• the starting points for meeting a memory impaired client
