Objective

Learning outcomes
The students learn the concept of the environment from the perspective of occupational therapy. The students know how the theoretical models of occupational therapy view the environment. The students understand the impact of the social, physical, cultural, digital and institutional environments on human activities. The students are able to view and analyze different everyday environments from the point of view of accessibility. The students are aware of the attitude environments impacting on clients’ occupational performance. The students become aware of the preconceptions, values, beliefs, and habits of their own and others.

- Environment in the theoretical models of occupational therapy
- Environment in the ICF classification
- The Environment impacting clients` occupational performance
- Analyzing everyday environments and assessing the home environment
- Accessibility of everyday operating environments
- Environmental barriers and facilitators in different everyday environments
- Values, attitudes and beliefs as factors affecting occupational performance

Location and time

Teaching includes contact teaching and independent work alone and in a group.

- know the key concepts in the field and can use them in appropriate contexts,
- distinguish between ordinary knowledge and research information and
- can search for information for individual cases.
- can act in professional situations according to the guidelines,
- recognize the operating environments of the professional field as well as
-know how client orientation forms a foundation for action.
- show their command of the ethical principles of the professional field
- follow the security guidelines
- can function as members of work team
- understand the significance of strengths and development needs in the professional growth

- seek information from different sources and evaluate the source reliability in a purposeful manner,
- combine information from different sources into purposeful units as well as
-utilize and apply the knowledge base in the field.

- demonstrate the ability to solve professional tasks and problems as well as
- can justify the presented points of view and their own action in a professional way.
- act in accordance with the ethical principles of the professional field and share their competence,

The assessment of the course consists of two returnable assignments (individual assignment 50% and group assignment 50%)
