Strategic Management in Care of Older People (5 cr)

Objective

Upon completion of the course, the student will know how to:
- Assess the strategic management of an organisation
- Analyse strategic measures and indicators
- Apply the key principles of strategic management in their practice
- Draw up an action plan for a workplace based on the organisation’s strategy
- Promote the development of workplace skills in accordance with strategic objectives

- Strategic knowledge management

Location and time

Opetus toteutetaan etä- ja lähityöskentelynä. Lähityöskentely tapahtuu Myllypuron kampuksella.

Materials

Kirjallisuus osoitetaan opinttojakson alussa.

Opintojakso sisältää:
- dialogista vuorovaikutusta ja yhteistä työskentelyä
- välitehtäviä sekä ennakko-orientaation opintoihin
- kirjallisuuteen tutustumista sekä sote organisaation starategiatyöskentelyyn perehtymisen
- luentoja
- kokoavan kirjallisen tehtävän

Exam schedules

Opintojakson kokoava tehtävä palautetaan 31.5.2024 mennessä.

Student workload

Opintojaksolla on 4 x 4 lähiopetuskertaa, joista osa tapahtuu etäyhteyksin, osa kampuksella. Muu työskentely on itsenäistä tai pareittain tapahtuvaa.

The student knows how to:
- Identify and describe the strategic management and activities of an organisation, and its defining values and visions
- Utilise evaluative strategic activity indicators in management
- Describe the premises and criteria in strategic action planning and the development of workplace skills
- Act in accordance to the ethical principles of care of older people and equality in management of care older people

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student knows how to:
- Analyse and explain the strategic management and activities of an organisation, and its defining values and visions
- Analyse and apply different kinds of evaluative strategic activity indicators in management
- Analyse and implement strategic action planning and the development of workplace skills
- Analyse and implement the ethical principles of care of older people and equality in management of care of older people

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student knows how to:
- Critically and purposefully evaluate the strategic management and activities of an organisation, and its defining values and visions
- Critically evaluate and develop different kinds of evaluative strategic activity indicators in management
- Critically evaluate and develop strategic action planning and the development of workplace skills
- Critically evaluate the implementation of the ethical principles of care of older people and equality in their own management of care of older people

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student knows how to:

Assessment methods and criteria

Arviointiin sisältyy välitehtävät (hyv./hylätty) sekä arvioitava lopputehtävä asteikolla 1-5.
