The student
• understands the starting points for research activities
• is familiar with research-based design
• knows the basic concepts of research, the structure of the research process, the research methods suitable for planning and the principles of reporting results.

The student
• can evaluate the starting points of research activities in design work
• knows the principles of research-based design and can apply them in practice
• understands the basic concepts of research, the structure of the research process, the appropriate research methods and the principles of reporting results.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• can analyse and critically evaluate the starting points of research activities as part of design work
• has an excellent understanding of the principles of research-based design and can apply them creatively and meaningfully in practice
• has a good command of the basic concepts of research, the structure of the research process, the research methods suitable for design and the principles of reporting results.
