Objective

The objective of the course is to observe service design as a concept and perceive its meaning when designing a new product or service. Competence in user-centered design is further deepened
with respect to service development and the interaction between the service producer and the user.

Content

- Service design and modeling
- Contact points of the service experience, service track and service moment and designing them
- Basic consepts and work methods of the user centered design; utilizing them in service design

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students master the service design process as well as the role of the industrial designer in the service development. The students can solve the problems in service design with the tools of the designer. The students can successfully produce presentation material.

The students master the stages of the service design process as well as the role of the industrial designer in the service development. The students can successfully solve the problems in service design with the tools of the designer. The students can successfully justify the made decisions and master making the service concept. The students can successfully produce presentation material. The students can both document and present their development project successfully.

The students master the stages of the service design process as well as the role of the industrial designer in the service development. The students can solve the problems in service design in an excellent way with the tools of the designer. The students can justify the made decisions and master making the service concept in an excellent way. The students can produce high quality presentation material. The students can both document and present their development project in an excellent way.
