Objective

The student can work in different musical ensembles and participate in professional projects. The student knows how to take responsibility as a member of a group, independently make their own sheet music/materials, and collect and rehearse repertoire for performances.

The student is able to utilize different work methods in developing their own expression. The student is able to work professionally and creatively with different styles of music. The student has the competence for strong musical interpretation and for creating musical experiences, both recorded and live.

Students will gain experience in public performance, performance preparation, as well as related responsibilities and general practices. The student deepens their knowledge of musician's work and professional ethics through practical work training and is able to network in both domestic and foreign professional fields.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student can complete and submit the set exercises and assignments according to schedule. The student is able to act as an active member of the group. The student gives constructive feedback and is able to reflect on their own knowledge and skills.

Prerequisites

The student is familiar with working as a versatile musician in different roles while developing their ensemble playing and instrumental skills. They can construct musical entities both based on written score and by ear. They are also able to plan their own practise routines and perform in a group. The student has the required interaction skills and is able to reflect on their own work as well as the work of others.

The student is able to search for and assess information on a given phenomenon as well as perceive connections between music history, music theory and music performance. This includes the critical and creative application of information in both written form and through playing. The student learns to analyse musical phenomena and to interpret them through performance.
