Objective

The student knows the principles and processes of museum exhibition construction, the parties involved in them and especially the role of the conservator in the exhibition construction process.
Exhibition construction and logistics, duties of an exhibition architect, accessibility of an exhibition, curation, collection management related to an exhibition, communication and marketing of an exhibition, technology of an exhibition.

Content

• Exhibition construction, its course, processes and division of tasks
• Visit to the museum and being acquainted with the exhibition construction project
• Exercises related to exhibitions and exhibition construction

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to outline the basic concepts of the topic of exhibition construction and knows the related theory at a basic level. The student masters the basics of the course and understands the main content of the course. The student understands the necessary theoretical and applied principles related to the topic. The student is able to acquire information independently and perform the required assignments related to the exhibition construction process. The student has difficulty acting as a group member in an encouraging and group-strengthening way.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student has a good understanding of the basic ideas and concepts of exhibition construction. The student demonstrates a good level of theoretical and applied knowledge. The student is able to expertly justify the choices he / she has made, and the practical application proceeds consistently in accordance with the practices of the professional field. The student masters the whole subject in both theory and practice and has achieved a good level of knowledge and skills. The work has been sufficiently independent. The student is able to acquire information independently, is able to critically analyse this information and demonstrates a good knowledge of the topic in assignments, related to the exhibition construction process. As a member of the group, the student acts to encourage and strengthen the work of the group.

The student masters the topic of exhibition construction and has achieved an excellent level of knowledge and skills. The student demonstrates excellent level of theoretical and applied knowledge and is able to apply well what he / she has learned. The student is able to work largely independently on both written and skill-based assignments and demonstrates excellent knowledge of the topic in assignments, related to the exhibition construction process. The student is able to acquire information independently and to analyse and apply this information. The student participates in the discussion with arguments using the concepts of the field. The student works consistently, showing initiative and creative problem-solving ability. As a member of the group, the student acts to encourage and strengthen the work of the group.
