Objective

The student reforms and develops acute care in accordance with professional ethics and the principles of patient safety and care. As an expert in acute care nursing, the student can lead multi-professional development and project teams at national and international level. The student adopts a goal-oriented approach to self-reflection and to development of workplace. She/he identifies possible development targets in acute care and bears responsibility for the development of the quality of care. She/he is capable of solving challenges in acute care nursing by utilizing research data. The student adopts the principles of evidence-based nursing as a foundation for his/her practices.

- Evidence-based practices in acute care nursing
- Ensuring the quality of acute care nursing by means of various indicators
- Development of activities in cooperation with various actors and NGO`s
- Leading development project teams
- Multi-professional networks and participating in the activities of national and international acute care nursing networks

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Satisfactory (1-2):

The student demonstrates competence in the basic content of the unit, but there are deficiencies in his/her individual ability to find and interpret information and to integrate the learned content with the context of the workplace.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good (3-4):

The student demonstrates good competence in the content of the unit. She/he is able to find information actively and interpret it in relation to the work environment. The student is able to analyze the learned content and apply it to the context of the workplace.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent (5):

The student demonstrates great and wide-ranging competence in the content of the unit. She/he displays outstanding competence in finding relevant information. The student’s decision-making skills demonstrate independence, responsibility and the ability to guide others. His/her ability to apply the learned content to the context of the workplace is creative and comprehensive.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Approved/Failed:

Pass: The student demonstrates competence in the basic content of the unit (in reference to the assessment criteria). However, independent search for information, interpretation and the ability to integrate the learned content with the context of the workplace prove inadequate.

Assessment methods and criteria

The project plan and poster prepared on the basis of the development work are evaluated on a scale of 0-5

The evaluation uses the national qualification level description of qualifications, level EQF 7.
Satisfactory (1-2)
In the competence assessment items, the student shows that he has mastered the basic content of the course, but there are shortcomings in the independent acquisition of information, interpretation and the ability to connect what he has learned to the context of working life.
Good (3-4)
The student shows that he has a good command of the content of the course in the competence assessment items. He actively acquires information and interprets its key connections to working life. He has the ability to analyze what he has learned and apply what he has learned to the context of working life.
Commendable (5)
In the competence assessment items, the student shows that he has a versatile and extensive command of the content of the course. He has excellent information acquisition skills that match the purpose. In the decisions he makes, he shows independence, responsibility and the ability to guide others. His ability to apply what he has learned to the context of working life shows creativity and breadth.
