Objective

The student knows the principles of manufacturing methods. The student is able to choose the most suitable and cost-effective manufacturing method for each product and understands the impact of selection on dimensioning, dimensional accuracy and design. The student is able to choose suitable machining values, tools and fasteners for manufacturing. The student is able to produce a product based on a working drawing and a 3D model. The student understands the principle of CNC machines and is able to make simple programs for CNC machines.

Content

1. Manufacturing methods: cutting, moulding, electrical erosion, sintering and additive manufacturing
2. CNC lathes, machining centers and flexible production systems
3. Theory of cutting machining and selection of machine values
4. Basics of NC programming and ISO code
5. Product design taking into account manufacturing requirements
6. Tolerances and surface finish and dimensioning of pieces in terms of manufacturing

Evaluation scale

0-5
