Objective

After having completed the course the student knows the juridical, administrative and contentual process of creating a local master plan. The student understands the meaning of local master plan in the land use planning system and in the guidance of the urban structure. The student can apply and analyze different GIS data material in the creation of the local master plan. The student can create the local master plan with a GIS software including the plan symbols, reason the made plan solutions and evaluate the impacts of the local master plan.

Content

National Land Use Objectives, regional planning, different types of local master plans, required content of the local master plan, background studies and reports, creation process, interaction, legal consequences, urban structure, review of residual property units, dimensioning, creation of theme maps, structural models and the local master plan with a GIS software, creation of plan symbols and plan provisions as well as the impact evaluation of the local master plan, reasoning of the plan solutions

The student masters the taught content only in a satisfactory way, which shows in the average of the grades from the assignments and in the peer evaluation. The student has also participated in the obligatory classes.
