Objective

The student:
- understands the ethical, pedagogic and methodological principles of patient guidance
- is able to independently plan, execute and evaluate the nursing guidance in a family-centered manner in co-operation with other specialists
- understands the meaning of the illness and different nursing environments to the child, adolescent and his family and can support and promote the wellbeing of the families with children
- is able to plan, execute and evaluate the nursing care of children and adolescents in accordance to the nursing principles and ethical questions of that patient group, while working in acute and prehospital care environment

- ethical, pedagogic and methodological principles the guidance of children and families
- the principles and ethical questions of the nursing of children and adolescents in acute and prehospital care
- the growth and development of children and adolescents
- supporting and guidance of children, adolescents and families in acute and prehospital care
- relevant nursing care methods
- the family oriented nursing process of acutely ill children and adolescents and those suffering from long-term illness
- triage and assessment methods used in the emergency care of children and adolescents
- relevant pediatric morbidities
- nursing care special considerations related to children and adolescents
- life-threatening situations in acute and prehospital care of children and adolescents
