Objective

Students
- can promote the health of population within the basic health care sector
- can evaluate the health needs and challenges of clients of all ages
- can implement screenings and health examinations of adults and the elderly with long-term illnesses and multiple diagnoses
- can use the work methods of health promotion in the preventative work of lifestyle diseases at individual, group and community level flexibly and individually
- can apply evidence-based knowledge to planning and implementing client-oriented health promotion
- can apply multi-actor collaboration to their work.

Content

Adult counselling and consulting clients in outpatient care
Current care guidelines in major lifestyle diseases
Health examinations and screenings
Population-based vaccinations and detecting communicable diseases and referral to care
Promotion of health and functional capacity
Individual and group counselling to support lifestyle changes
Prevention and first aid of accidents at home and in the leisure time
Promotion of mental health
Promotion of sexual and reproductive health
