Objective

The student familiarizes himself or herself with different new and current products and phenomena in the field of biotechnology and chemical engineering. He or she understands the importance of new products for the field.

Content

Yearly varying and topical trends, products, business ideas in the field of biotechnology and food engineering.

- English 1 ECTS: job application process, making a video clip on a course-specific topic, academic style, course-specific vocabulary

The student can name or describe different new biotechnology and food engineering applications on a general level.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student can describe, in his or her own words, different applications in the field of biotechnology and food engineering. He or she can explain the background and special features of the applications and take a stand on the significance and news value of the applications in question.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student can explain, in his or her own words, different new applications in the field of biotechnology and food engineering. He or she can analyze and discuss the significance of a new product (benefits and possible disadvantages) and compare different solution alternatives.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student can name or describe different new biotechnology and food engineering applications on a general level.
