Exam schedules

Course has two exams: pharmacotherapy and pharmacology both graded 0-5. These exam grades create the course overall grade. Pharmacotherapy exam grade is weighted by 2, and pharmacology exam grade is weighted by one. All exams are held in EXAM-room at Metropolia campus.

Everyone is entitled to two retake attempts. Exam grade could be upgraded once at the first retake exam.

Student is allowed to choose the exam time themselves inside a certain time period. Booking guidelines will be sent by email closer to exam dates.

Pharmacology 2 exam
Exam 6.11.-10.11.2023
1. retake 18.12.-22.12.2023
2. retake 29.1.-2.2.2024

Pharmacotherapy 2 exam
Exam 20.11.-24.11.2023
1. retake 8.1.-12.1.2024
2. retake 12.2.-16.2.2024

International connections

Alternatively, the student may complete the course in Finnish together with Finnish taught group.

Completion alternatives

It is possible to apply total or partly AHOT/RPL (recognition of prior learning) based on earlier studies, according to AHOT-guidelines (please see OMA). The AHOT process must be commenced before the course begins. The student going through the process must enroll on the course as usual and attend on orientation so the compensatory activities can be agreed. Decision of partial AHOT must be presented to the responsible teacher prior to course orientation.

Student workload

· 1 cr = 27 h
· The course consists of 135 hours of which the amount contact hours will be 44 h (theory, clinical laboratory teaching and simulation) and independent study 91 h (preparing for exam, web-based materials and learning assignments)

Further information

Pharmacotherapy 2 contains the following parts: theory, clinical labs and simulations, pharmacology 2 lectures. Info about exam will be provided on orientation.

Participation in orientation is compulsory. Participation to theory classes is highly recommended.

Participation in clinical laborations is compulsory. Students are required to wear appropriate protective uniforms in clinical laborations. Instructions given in asepsis lectures are being followed during practicing.

Previous studies/courses that must be completed before Pharmacotherapy 2: Pharmacotherapy 1 theory, clinical labs and simulations, clinical nursing and anatomy and fysiology.
