Objective
The student is able to describe health promotion as a multifaceted phenomenon and a continuous process. The student is able to recognize client’s needs for instructions and guide the client by strengthening the client’s own resources and encouraging participation. The student is able to describe national and international recommendations and commitments. The student is knowledgeable about the health promotion process and models at individual and community levels as well as recognize promotive and preventative points of view as a part of health promotion. The student recognizes guidance as a part of client work and is able to apply the principles of motivational interview.
The student recognizes the connection of genetics, age, life habits and illnesses with foot health. The student can recognize parts of self-care and manage to review self-care habits as well as assess the footwear and pain.
The student is able to plan and execute instructional situations for clients and groups that support and promote self-care utilizing appropriate didactive solutions. The student is able to produce applicable material that meets client’s needs.
The student understands the modern view of mental health and psychological functional capacity, viewing a human as psychophysical being, and understands the meaning of psychological resources for human adaptation and well-being. The student is prepared for positive interaction with a client with psychological symptoms. The student understands common mental disorders, is able to assess the sufficiency of own ability in client’s care and direct the client to appropriate mental health services.
