Objective

Learning outcomes:
The students use occupational therapy based theory, research data and research methods when planning, implementing and evaluating research and development activities. The students identify the current research and development needs in Finland and choose a research and development target. The students justify the choices related to research and development from the perspective of occupational therapy. The students know the phases of the research and development process and apply them to their Bachelor’s Thesis. The students name the key funding opportunities for projects and research in Finland and develop a project idea as teamwork that complies with the funder's requirements. The students communicate as experts in various research and development tasks and environments.

Contents:
- Research strategies, positions and processes in R&D activities and in the Bachelor’s thesis
- Methods of analysis of the research and development environment
- Multidisciplinary cooperation and network cooperation
- Funding channels for R&D activities in the social and health care sector
- Basics in scientific writing
- Communication in research and development tasks and projects

- search and combine information from different sources and understand the significance of source criticism as well as
- show they have familiarized themselves with the knowledge base of the field
- act appropriately in the typical tasks and situations of the professional field

- can justify the presented points of view and their own action in a professional manner.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oppimistehtävät (0-5). Annariikan osuus NPT: tiivistystehtävä ryhmässä (esitys 31.8 kampuksella, palautus 31.8) ja oppimispäiväkirja itsenäisesti (palautus 3.9.23). Marianne osuus: blogikirjoitus.
Tehtävänannot arviointikriteereineen käydään läpi opintojakson alussa.
