Objective

Learning outcomes
The students reflect the client processes they have implemented. The students assess the suitability of the employed assessment methods, the set goals and the plan they have drawn up with the client, as well as the suitability of the therapeutic occupation when enabling the client’s occupational performance. The students consider the implementation of client orientation in occupational therapy and the importance of models explaining the occupations in the client process.

The students are aware of the importance of their own persona and interaction in the client relationships of occupational therapy and adapt it to the client relationship. The students apply the ethical principles of occupational therapy, work in a client-centered way and interacts with different clients. The students know the principles of co-operation in occupational therapy. The students recognize the client’s occupational situation/ stage in relation to the client’s problem and are able to position themselves accordingly in a therapeutic relationship. The students know the principles of the placebo effect in client relationships. The students are aware of the importance of the client's network for the therapeutic relationship.

Therapeutic relationship: The students are able to bring up and partly adapt their own persona and interaction in client relationships. The students also partially recognize and are able to apply the ethical principles of occupational therapy to client work. The students recognize the principles of client orientation and strive to work in a client-centered way with the clients. The students recognize and practice different ways of interacting with the clients. The students recognize some of the principles of co-operation in occupational therapy. The students are practicing how to identify the situation/phase of the client's occupational performance in relation to the client's problem and are able to position themselves accordingly in a therapeutic relationship. The students recognize the principles of the placebo effect in client relationships. The students recognize the importance of the client's network in the therapeutic relationship.

Therapeutic relationship: The students are able to adapt their own persona and interaction in client relationships appropriately. The students apply and evaluate the ethical principles of occupational therapy in client work. The students work in a client-centered manner with the clients and assess whether client orientated service takes place. The students apply their interaction appropriately in client work and consciously develop their own interaction. The students strive to apply the principles of co-operation in occupational therapy. The students assess the client's situation/phase regarding their occupational performance and are able to position themselves accordingly in a therapeutic relationship. The students recognize the principles of the placebo effect in client relationships. The students recognize the importance of the client's network in the therapeutic relationship and actively cooperate with the network.

Before attending the course, the students must have competence from the following courses: Basics of Therapeutic Occupation/Activity, Environmental Factors Affecting Occupational Performance 1, Me as an occupational therapist, Assessing Occupational Performance 1
