Objective
Students are able to
- describe the principles of the research process and research-based development work
- describe the methods of data acquisition and analysis applied in development work and the working methods
- justify the methods and working methods used in the development work
- critically evaluate the studies carried out by different methods
- understand the importance of condensed research in developing and implementing consistent practices
- act in accordance with the ethical principles of research and development
- share the basic concepts of epidemiology and biostatistics

Menetelmäpajat erillisen aikataulun mukaisesti, aikataulu on Moodlessa.
Materials
Osoitetaan Moodle-alustalla. Sisältää myös nauhoitettuja verkkoluentoja.
Opettajan laatimat tehtävät ja MATERIAALIT ovat Tekijänoikeuslain (404/61) mukaisia teoksia, joihin opettajalla on tekijänoikeus. Tehtäviä JA MATERIAALEJA ei saa käyttää muuten kuin omissa opinnoissaan. Niiden julkinen levittäminen on sallittua vain opettajan luvalla.
Teaching methods
Verkkokurssi, jonka teoriaosuus suoritetaan kokonaan Moodle-alustalla. Alusta auki 16.01.-10.05.2023.
Tähän opintojaksoon kuuluu pakolliset menetelmäpajat. Opiskelijan on suoritettava 2 pajaa, jotka hän voi valita oman mielenkiinnon mukaan.
Menetelmäpajoja on tarjolla kolme erilaista: kvantitatiivinen, kvalitatiivinen ja kehittämistyön paja.
Yhden menetelmäpajan pituus on 1 x 3h. Opiskelija valitsee omaan aikatauluun parhaiten sopivat.

Verkkokurssi auki Moodlessa 16.01.-10.05.2023.
Opintojaksossa suoritetaan orientaatiokeskustelu, etiikan yksilötehtävä (arvioidaan hyväksytty/hylätty), sekä menetelmäpienryhmätehtävä (4-5 hlöä), arvioidaan asteikolla 0-5. Epidemiologiaan liittyvät tehtävät tehdään Moodlen ohjeen mukaisesti. Opintojakson arvosana muodostuu pienryhmätehtävän arvosanasta.
Menetelmäpajat erillisen aikataulun mukaisesti. Menetelmäpajoja järjestetään useita kertoja lukukauden aikana.

Assessment methods and criteria
Opintojakson suorittaminen edellyttää aktiivista osallistumista, materiaaleihin tutustumista ja tehtävien tekemisen aikarajan puitteissa.
Etiikan yksilötehtävä arvioidaan hyväksytty/hylätty asteikolla, pienryhmässä tehtävä menetelmäoppimistehtävä arvioidaan arvosanalla 0-5, orientaatiokeskustelu ja epidemiologiaosuuden tehtävät hyv/hyl. Kaikki suoritukset palautettava ennenkuin Moodle sulkeutuu.
