Objective

The student will be able to
- report the results of the work, to assess them and to bring forth proposals for improvement in an appropriate way both in writing and in speech as well as visually.

Content

- preparing and presenting Thesis report
- self-evaluation and peer evaluation
- maturity test

Location and time

Seminar, maturity exam and assessment times are scheduled.
Report and project must be returned to Wihi two days prior to guidance or one week before Reporting seminar.
Attending to guidance sessions is mandatory and is required in order to give presentation in Thesis Seminar.
Seminar is mandatory. Peer assessment is mandatory.

Student workload

5 cr (135 hrs)
• Self-study, work in small groups
• Accepted Reporting and Usefulness of the Thesis and Maturity Test
• Presentation of the execution in the seminar
• Oral and written opposing an execution of co-student in the seminar
• Active participation in work-shops
• Presentation and publication of a thesis.

Content scheduling

Execution and reporting of thesis requires time management skills and planning.
In order to participate to seminar and give oral presentation student is required to participate in guidance with teachers.

The course pre-requisites: approved Thesis plan and Implementation.
The thesis evaluated numerically, when all its parts are been endorsed.

When the thesis is evaluated and the evaluation is documented in Oma, the students save the thesis to TurnItIn: FINALIZED REPORT.

The accepted grade of the thesis cannot be increased.

Assessment methods and criteria

• The student writes the Maturity Test at the end of the thesis process, when the thesis is completed. The maturity test is written at the exam of the course. After that, the student can write the Maturity Test at a specified re-exam. The Maturity Test is evaluated: passed/failed. The Maturity Test is evaluated by the supervisor and a Finnish teacher.
• The Thesis Project is evaluated at the end of the process on a scale 5-1. The evaluation criteria of Thesis is used.
