Objective

The students
- acquire the skills for the commonest fluoroscopy examinations and procedures
- become familiar with patient preparation, observation during examination and
ensuring safety, including aftercare and guidance
- know aseptic methods and follow the principles of sterile working
- observe radiation safety (staff, patient, dose optimisation, radiation protection)
- know how to act and take responsibility in first aid and resuscitation situations
- understand circulatory anatomy and physiology
- know how to administer safe drug treatment in radiology interventions and examinations
- know how to take an ECG and knows the basics of interpreting the result

Exam schedules

7.3. 2023 at 13-15.45 joint exam (radiography and clinical nursing). Possibility to retake the exam twice if the grade is failed and once if the grade is passed. The re-examinations will be held at the general examination sessions as agreed.

Content scheduling

Before the start of the course, complete any preliminary assignments. Practical training after theory and laboratory studies. Joint examination (clinical nursing and radiological procedures) before the start of the practical training period. Before attending the course, the course 'Nursing in clinical radiography' or 'Care of radiological patients in healthcare settings' must have been successfully completed.

Further information

Theory classes, simulation and laboratory work are compulsory. Sick leave is compensated according to the teacher's instructions.

You should wear work clothes in the laboratories.

Before the start of the course, students will possible make a preliminary assignments.
Students must confirm their attendance for a course implementation by being present when tuition begins or in another manner agreed with the lecturer; for example, by returning the first course assignment. Students who are unable to attend the first teaching session due to illness may also confirm their attendance by informing the lecturer of this in advance.

Assignments returned late may affect the assessment of the course.

If the student has individualized educational support / study arrangements, shall this student contact the teacher of the course immediately after the end of the registration period (or latest before the start of the course.)
