Objective

The learning outcomes are weighed according to the following selected leadership points of view (1-3). 1. The students are able to evaluate the change taking place in the operating environment and predict their impact on social work and work communities. Students are able to develop and manage the work community's operations and its competence in cooperation with the staff and to formulate customer-oriented justifications for the ethical and sustainable development of work and the work community. 2. The students are able to develop services, service processes, and social innovations in a client-oriented and inclusive manner and to participate in managing the change processes. 3. The students are able to manage the service-rendering business units effectively. They are able to network and build partnerships to ensure the unit's sustainable success.

Content

The basis for innovation work. The life cycle of the project. Research, developmental and participatory customer-oriented management work methods; innovation processes and methods. The studies are executed as work life cooperation in small groups gathered according to the chosen theme. The theme content may be targeted at e.g. managing the work community in an innovative project; developing service processes or service rendering busines.

• masters the principles of strategic and operative management and knows how to apply them to practice flexibly in managerial duties
• is familiar with management systems and knows how to apply them to versatile work communities, organisations and networks
• develops and manages services and service units ethically enabling their participation.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Management and development in the field of social services:
• masters the principles of strategic and operative management and knows how to apply them to practice flexibly in demanding and complex managerial situations
• is familiar with management systems and knows how to apply them to versatile work communities, organisations and networks
• develops and manages services and service units ethically and in a socially sustainable manner as well as can lead the activities of work communities in an inspiring and renewing manner.
