Objective

Students deepen their understanding about the central anatomical structures essential to clinical work of an osteopathic using knowledge obtained by different methods. Students develop their information retrieval skills and write out professional text that require synthesis of clinical approach and knowledge of anatomy.

Content

Examination of the size, shape and location of body structures as well as careful examination of clinically significant regions
Tissue microscopy (histology)
Advanced anatomy of the skull
Anatomy of the circulatory system of the central nervous system
Anatomical autopsy (dissection)
Sonopalpation
Principles of imaging diagnostics (radiology)
Advanced anatomy relevant to the clinical work of the osteopath
Information retrieval and writing an analytical text about the main structures of anatomy from a professional point of view.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Management of the foreign terminology is at least 50 % of what is demanded.

Students use foreign professional concepts expertly.
Students identify and describe anatomical structures and discover connections between structure and function.

Management of the foreign terminology is at least 90 % of what is demanded.
Students use foreign professional concepts widely and expertly for example when answering essay questions.
Students identify anatomical structures and explain their function by analysing connections between structure and function.

Ihmisen anatomia 1-4:n anatomian teoriaosuuksien, Sisäelinten anatomian ja fysiologian sekä Neuroanatomian ja –fysiologian osaamistavoitteet saavutettu.
