Objective
After completing the course, the students are able to:
• recognize different groups of textile fibers and their effect on material properties.
• recognize different fabric structures and weaves and understand their significance to the product characteristics.
• describe the requirements of textile materials and define the properties of materials and accessories used in clothing.

Physical and chemical structures and properties of textile fibers. Textile material structures and weaves. Clothing materials and accessories.

Individual and group assignments. Lectures and an exam based on course literature. Laboratory work: identification of fibres.
