Objective

CAD
The student is able to draw HVAC drawings of a simple building using CAD design software.

BIM
Student can
• explain the fundamentals of building information model/modelling/management (BIM)
• define key approaches, uses and advantages of BIM during the whole life-cycle
• recall essential contents, summarize and give examples of BIM terminologies, definitions and standards.
• describe and utilize BIM methods and tools in construction processes.

Content

CAD (4 ects): HVAC drawings. The basics of CAD design. Making simple HVAC designs for a single family house using a CAD application.

BIM (1 ects)
• Introduction to BIM
• BIM guidelines, policies and regulations
• IFC basics and information exchange
• BIM tools, technologies and processes
• BIM utilization in project life cycle

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to prepare the HVAC plans of a simple building holistically with the help and instructions and to make them work as a single entity to serve the building using a CAD design program. The student understands the basics of using data modeling.

In addition to the above, the student is able to apply a CAD design program and independently draw up plans

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the above, the student is able to apply a CAD design program and independently draw up plans at an almost error-free level.

The student is able to prepare the HVAC plans of a simple building holistically with the help and instructions and to make them work as a single entity to serve the building using a CAD design program. The student understands the basics of using data modeling.
