Learning outcomes
The students can assess and develop their competencies and working skills in the field of live performance engineering. They develop and use their own expertise by plannin and / or executing a personal research and development project based on development needs in an organization. The students recognize and give a rationale to the development needs and use their problem solving, co-operation and communication skills in the development process. They can report and present the research and development process and its results. The goal of the research and development project is to deepen and widen the professional expertise of the students.
Content
Executing a personal research and development project in an organization. The course may contain lectures, workshops and group assingments in addition to the practical research and development work.
Prerequisites
The participant is familiar with the use of live performance engineering in diverse use environments, knows the key safety regulations and practices, and has basic skills and knowledge related to the use of live performance engineering systems according to the requirements of the project.

Projects are carried out in cooperation with working life where applicable. Basically in development projects students develop their own work and workplace or other organization.

Further information for students
The course requires at least 80% attendance. The procedure for replacing the absence is agreed with the teacher in charge of the course unit. The schedule of the course can be found in Lukkari. All parts of the course must be completed successfully. A common timetable for the implementation of the project will be drawn up.
Lectures and Zoom-sessions will be recorded for the participants. The recordings will be distributed for example by Microsoft Stream and Google Classroom. The recordings will be available for 2 years. If a student will not want to participate recordings, student should discuss with lecturer.

The students can execute, report and present a personal research and development assignment. The students assess their own role and the work environment related to the research and development project. In their presentations the students demonstrate their expertise, and the language and layout of the report is appropriate.

The students can execute a challenging research and development project in a professional manner. They assess analyticaly and critically their own role, functioning of the organization, and prerequisities for the research and development work. In their presentations the students demonstrate expertise and the language and layout of the report is almost immaculate.
